Snow Day

Snow Play Day
Playing outside in DEEP snow (under all of this snow is a picnic table). Just look at his face, so fun!
One of our little angles! I had to help him get up because the snow was so deep!

These three were trying to run a race, but it was so tricky that they got the giggles!

The smile says it all!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving
I had made this art project with my third grade classes in the past. I thought it would be great fine motor practice for preschoolers even if they didn't turn out great. I was right, great practice (look at those wonderful pencil grips), and very wrong, they turned out BEAUTIFULLY!
Here we are finishing the turkey art project. The children were given four different colors of paint. The directions were to paint each area with a different color of paint so that there would not be any areas touching that are painted the same color . Those are tricky directions, but look at these masterpieces!

Friendship Feast
We celebrated our friendships and healthy eating. Each child contributed something to make our meal. It was so fun to see their great social skills and manners! WOW!

H Week

H Week was a busy week!
We had a horse named Hershe come to visit! Thank you Woody for bringing her and doing such a great H presentation. You wouldn't believe how many horse items begin with an H!

Ms. Heidi's class. They even got to see Hershe go potty, which was a highlight!

Ms. Tania's class. I love the cowboys, they knew Hershe was coming!

In honor of H Week we had crazy hat day!
Ms. Heid's class. The hats are not too crazy, but they sure are cute!

Ms. Tania's class. They were a little crazier!

Learning how to make an H

We try to work on fine motor skills daily using many different methods: writing, coloring, painting, scissors, and here sculpting. That is a good looking H!

Fall

Leaves, Leaves, Leaves

We have a great time playing outside. Especially when we have a pile of leaves to play in!
We also transformed leaves into various items. This child transformed his leaves into 'humans'. What a great idea, especially during H week.

Halloween Party

We had so much fun! Thank you for all of the extra help from our special grown ups! And a big thanks for all of the prizes, food, drinks, etc.

The teachers! We are tough, magical, and princesses!

We decorated cookies, yummy!
We also had help from a special uncle and the Wicked Witch of the West.

We had lots of games! Here's Ring the Hat.

Of course we sang lots of songs. Tap, tap, tap!

Oh, no what's in the feely box? Mice, bats, and spiders oh my!

We ended our party with a foggy dance. Their moves were so good it was scary!

The Pumpkin Patch

We took a field trip to the Field of Dreams Pumpkin Patch. We went on a hayride, played games, went through a maze, and got pumpkins!

These are some of the cutest pumpkins we've ever seen.

Yeah, for hayrides!

C is for cars and carrots

We love new centers! For C week our new center was cars.
Look at our great sharing skills! Four kids playing with one toy, that's impressive!

What a great art and science lesson. Ms. Heidi's class learned about carrots and how to make mud!

B is for boxes

Our new center for B week was really BIG boxes. What a great way to use our imaginations and create! Here the kiddos worked together to make a boat, hey boat starts with a B too!

Recess is a great time to work on gross motor and fine motor skills. It's fun too!
Get your hands ready and catch!

Centers

B is for bumblebee!
We love dress up. We switch out our centers weekly, but dress up is always a crowd favorite!
The Princess and the Alligator.
Don't worry, her wand "is magical and keeps the alligator from eating anyone."

More boxes. Is it a plane, a car, or a train? I know it's a SMILE!

Writing on the whiteboard. What great practice!

Parachute

Circle, it's the shape of the week!We used the parachute to talk about the shape of the week, listening skills, color practice, exercise, and of course FUN!

The First Day of School

The smile says it all, "Yeah for school!"

We started our day with blocks. Wow, what great sharing already!
Starting the day with friends and a smile! This little man made 4 or 5 different towers out of the same blocks, good thinking!

We read The Gingerbread Man, and then went on a hunt for clues while we toured the preschool.
Look at all of those good listeners!

Next we decorated our own cookies. Ms. Brenna was very careful to leave the oven door closed while they cooked so they wouldn't run away!
It was serious business getting the cookies just right!Working on fine motor skills and having fun too!

Ms. Tania's class made washable art with shaving cream.
Oh boy, this feels funny!
Look at those messy hands!

We ended our day with the good-bye song.

Here's Ms. Tania signing 'play'.

Ambulance Visit

Yeah, an Ambulance Came to Visit!

We got to go inside, look at a lot of the supplies, and even try some of them! We discovered that ambulances are not scary! We also reviewed what to do in the case of an emergency, call 911!
Looking at and listening to this little lady's heart beat!
Inside the ambulance, super cool!
Thanks AMR and Brian, we loved it!

The 5 Senses

The 5 Senses!
We also performed a science experiment. We smelled (shown above), tasted, and touched (shown below) four different items and tried to figure out what they were. The kiddos were so brave and trusting!
Reaching into the 'feely box'. What is it?
Finger painting. To increase the sense of touch we added sand to the paint. They also got to pick two colors to mix, to 'see' what it made!
What do you hear? All of our brand new instruments! Music to our ears!
