Writing Skills

At Laugh & Learn Preschool one of the main skills that we will be working on is writing.
It is truly amazing to see how far kids come in one year with their writing skills.
When my son Gage, started preschool at age 3 his people that he drew looked like scribbles
and now he is drawing people that really look like people.
I wanted to share with you Gage's Father's Day card that he made this
year. Gage is 4 years old.

The picture above is of Gage and his Dad playing golf.

This is the center of the card.
It says: To Dad Happy Fathers Day from Gage. And he added some designs too.
I helped Gage with spelling Happy Fathers Day but he did the rest.

This is the back of the card.
It says Gage Dad
Golf
Helge & Devo
Helge and Devo are the nicknames of the two others that
went golfing one day with Gage and his Dad.

I am truly proud of Gage and how far he has come in his learning at the young age of 4. I love so much watching my kids grow and learn more and more each day. Gage has this love of learning which is awesome to see!

I am so excited as a teacher to be able to teach the older classes the essential writing skills so that they are able to walk into kindergarten ready to write and learn. I also hope that I can give the older kids at Laugh & Learn Preschool the love of writing! At Laugh & Learn Preschool we are a very hands on preschool, so instead of passing out worksheets each day to teach writing skills the kids will be writing in shaving cream, sand, white boards, etc. Yes, the older classes will still have time to practice the skills on paper, but that is not the only way we teach. We try to make each activity as fun as possible so the kids don't even know that they are learning, yet they are having a blast!

I hope you all are having a wonderful summer so far and I can't wait to meet you and your child this up and coming school year.
Ms. Heidi
