The Pumpkin Patch

What a fun trip to the Pumpkin Patch!
The kids got to go on a hayride, a maze (where they got to pick out their very own pumpkin), and then they got to play some Halloween games. All the kids seemed to have a really good time. Here are some pictures of our fun day!

Reading

Ms. Tania received this video clip from one of our parents of her son pretending to read. It is so fun to watch him recite the pledge and notice that he is holding the book right side up and is moving his finger from left to right, like he is reading. I just love this clip, it is just so cute!
Thank you Courtney and Travis for letting us share this video clip. It is just to precious.

To view, just click on the link and it will lead you to the video. Enjoy

Shaving Cream!!!

Writing with shaving cream!! This was so much fun to watch. The kids just loved it and thought that it was a blast to be able to draw shapes and lines in the shaving cream. A couple of the older kids in the class were practicing writing their letters. The kids just loved getting their hands dirty.

Demonstrating how to write in the shaving cream The kids loved that they could draw something thing in the shaving cream and
then just take their hand and erase it!

Writing Skills

At Laugh & Learn Preschool one of the main skills that we will be working on is writing.
It is truly amazing to see how far kids come in one year with their writing skills.
When my son Gage, started preschool at age 3 his people that he drew looked like scribbles
and now he is drawing people that really look like people.
I wanted to share with you Gage's Father's Day card that he made this
year. Gage is 4 years old.

The picture above is of Gage and his Dad playing golf.

This is the center of the card.
It says: To Dad Happy Fathers Day from Gage. And he added some designs too.
I helped Gage with spelling Happy Fathers Day but he did the rest.

This is the back of the card.
It says Gage Dad
Golf
Helge & Devo
Helge and Devo are the nicknames of the two others that
went golfing one day with Gage and his Dad.

I am truly proud of Gage and how far he has come in his learning at the young age of 4. I love so much watching my kids grow and learn more and more each day. Gage has this love of learning which is awesome to see!

I am so excited as a teacher to be able to teach the older classes the essential writing skills so that they are able to walk into kindergarten ready to write and learn. I also hope that I can give the older kids at Laugh & Learn Preschool the love of writing! At Laugh & Learn Preschool we are a very hands on preschool, so instead of passing out worksheets each day to teach writing skills the kids will be writing in shaving cream, sand, white boards, etc. Yes, the older classes will still have time to practice the skills on paper, but that is not the only way we teach. We try to make each activity as fun as possible so the kids don't even know that they are learning, yet they are having a blast!

I hope you all are having a wonderful summer so far and I can't wait to meet you and your child this up and coming school year.

Gage Reading Mr.Brown Can Moo

This is of my son Gage reading Mr.Brown Can Moo by Dr. Seuss. This is the first time that he has ever tried to read this book, yet I have read it to him many times. He is just loving the fact that he can read. I love to watch his face light up when he can read a sign or a page in a book. His confidence has also grown when it comes to learning. It has been so much fun teaching him to read and watching him blossom. I can't wait to help other children develop their reading skills and give them the confidence they need to succeed in school!
